Oversharing.I'm sure you know several Mikes or Michaels as it appears to be a popular name. Let me be clear in that I am not that Archangel who appears casually throughout biblical passages, nor am I the mechanic that owns Mike's Garage in your local village. No, I'm Mike Kieloch, I'm 23, and that's about the end of things that are easy to explain. I work for Arc of Onondaga doing public relations and development work. Arc, which works with individuals with developmental disabilities, is a local non-profit here in Syracuse. I publish their quarterly magazine, design marketing materials, write press releases... that kind of stuff. I graduated from Siena College with a double Bachelor of Arts in history and French -- for what reason I'm still not sure. I do not work in a museum, translate, nor do I teach. So, as you can see, I used all the skills I learned in college well. I'm also a First Lieutenant in the Civil Air Patrol, the U.S. Air Force Auxiliary. For some strange reason, these people have let me fly actual aircraft, travel to Europe expenses paid, oversee activities, and all sorts of other things. I'm currently working with their cadet program for youth ages 12-21, which teaches them leadership, aerospace, physical fitness, and works on character development. I live for travel. I'll travel anywhere, for just about any good reason. Taking in the sights, wandering around cities just exploring, hanging out with the local people outside of "touristy" areas -- it's all great stuff to me. I've been from Ireland and England to the Czech Republic and Hungary. I've avoided malaria in Cameroon, Africa and swam in the ocean on the Caymen Islands. I haven't a clue where I'm going next. I often get lost driving (in my spiffy 2006 Mazda3 :), I've been known to enjoy good wines and beer, just about any type of music, and Law & Order marathons. Apparently I also occassionaly get bored enough to put together things like this. For those of you who are still awake after reading all that, I carried over the old "vital stats" page from my last website, which apparently was popular (only God knows why). If that isn't enough, go have a good laugh at my expense looking through my dusty collection of photos. --Mike |
